Mathematical Institutes Open House at the JMM (San Diego, California): Wednesday, 5:30–8:00 PM, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, Ballroom B, Lobby Level, North Tower. Members of the AMS and MAA who are attending the Joint Mathematics Meetings are warmly invited to come to the Mathematical Institutes Open House reception, co-sponsored by several of the mathematical sciences institutes in North America. This reception precedes the Gibbs Lecture.

MSRI invites current and prospective donors to an informal reception with appetizers and drinks. Latinx in the Mathematical Sciences Conference (Los Angeles, California): The Mathematical Sciences Institutes Diversity Initiative together with IPAM will host a conference showcasing the achievements of Latinx in the mathematical sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles. The goal of the conference is to encourage Latinx (the gender-neutral alternative term to Latino and Latina) to pursue careers in the mathematical sciences and to promote the advancement of Latinx currently in the discipline, to showcase research being conducted by Latinx at the forefront of their fields, and, finally, to build a community around shared academic interests.

The 2018 Infinite Possibilities Conference (Howard University): The Mathematical Sciences Institutes Diversity Initiative together with MSRI will host the Infinite Possibilities Conference (IPC), a national conference designed to promote, educate, encourage and support underrepresented women interested in mathematics and statistics.
